Ford Transit Mk6/7 MDTI
LCS can now offer the supply and installation via a global network of distributors, a mechanical injection pump conversion, replacing the troublesome electronics associated with the MK6/7 duratorq engined transits.
A 'typical' VP failure can result in your van being off the road for a whole week, for the many tradesmen that rely upon their van to earn a living, this can have far more of an adverse effect on their finances than the cost of purchasing a replacement pump. The inconvenience of being stuck at the roadside, arranging recovery to a garage with access to the appropriate equipment and necessary skills to correctly diagnose the fault, you then have to wait for the repairer to 'look at it'. Only once the faulty part is correctly identified can replacement parts be ordered, the fault might not be your pump, electronic throttle pedals and various other engine sensors often display symptoms that are time consuming to identify. All this time your tools and equipment are not where you need them and you remain unable to honor any work commitments you have. The conversion is intended as a direct replacement for VP30 equipt Mk6 Transits but can be used as a replacement for a VP44 provided a set of VP30 injector pipes are used in conjunction with our pump. As was seen by those of you who inspected the test vehicles at Transitmania 2014, the same pump can be used on front wheel drive and rear wheel drive vehicles, although some of the included EGR pipework blanking plates differ between models, so it is important to supply as much information as possible regarding the model of Transit you have. We do appreciate that as this is considered a 'non standard installation', those of you unable to install the pump yourselves may struggle to find an independent repairer willing to carry out the work for you, with this in mind, both myself and Andy will be offering installation services, we also have a number of trusted forum members in various locations throughout the country willing to carry out this service. Full installation instructions will be posted on this forum and on our website, both myself and Andy will be able to offer 'remote assistance' should it be needed. For members further afield, we have a diesel specialist in Australia keen to offer installation services to members and are keen to 'enroll' specialists from other territories willing to offer this service, please contact me through the forum or our website if you wish to 'come aboard'. |
